Author’s Notes
… bringing recognition to the individuality of the soul
As much as I rebelled in my youth, I remained compliant to the ways of the mother … my mother—not a goddess. This is a stone I had hoped not to draw, but it completes the cairn.
The Daughter is the beginner. And we all begin as virgins in life. Carol Lee Campbell, creator of the Crone Stones, reminds us that the virgin was historically viewed as “the one who belongs to herself.”
This stone is about figuring out the individual you have become.
Never a Daughter is my response to walking without a guide, finding the way on my own.
Never a Daughter
Never a daughter born a mother made a mother maid. From silver bow did arrows flow But never found their way. How sad to think a mother a daughter never knew. Maga came and went without a rising crone in view. You say begin with daughter though mother’s what I gave. Now in the fading autumn I long to learn to play. Slowed time quickens winter and I have an empty quill a non-expectant mother and a daughter standing still.

Drawing the Daughter stone is a bid to your inner child.
Do you allow your inner child to come out and play?
Do you have an inner child?
A gentle invitation to discover. Share—if you’d like—I am always listening.
