Echoes from the Wander: July 28 - August 03, 2025
Well, we’ve wandered through another week … gotten through another month of ponderings. Last week felt almost like a family history week—fictional family, at least. As convoluted as it was to develop Jayla’s ancestry, it was much easier than tackling my real-life web. I hope you check out the WBTS genealogical excursion. You can find it in Starwoven’s bonus content for Episode Three. I’m a wee bit behind, but rabbit holes and real life have a way of ambushing us, right?
If you missed anything last week—or feel called to revisit something—here’s a recap of where we wandered last week, and a good guess of where we might stumble this week.
For the week of July 28 - August 03, 2025
Echo One: What Was
Last Week’s Dispatches (wayward and otherwise):
Phaiku No. 6 - Organoid Ode - Consciousness arising from a single cell? Stranger things have happened. (I think.)
Not familiar with Phaiku? Check out my introduction here → Introducing: Phaiku.
The Ghost in Our Genes - A living theory of epigenetics, inherited memory, and fodder for writers and wonderers.
Wednesday Whimsy #14 - The Muse Field Study - PART TWO: THE INTERVIEW ATTEMPTED (AND EVADED) - where N-7 tries to interview the Muse, but she answers before the question forms and rewrites reality in the margins.
Crone’s Cairn: Catch and Release - the second stone, the second poem … ‘dualities’ as seen by a crone.
Starwoven: Hear My Call - INDEX - access the episodes as they become released or find access to the complete PDF version. Check out the latest addition to the bonus content—a six-generation genealogical fan chart reflecting Red’s ancestry.
Echo Two: What’s Growing
I’m not so Mary, Mary Quite Contrary (mostly) but here’s were we heading …
Phaiku No. 7 - what music looks like … or something like that.
Further pondering about inherited memory and epigenetic echoes.
Wednesday Whimsy - #15: A field study gone awry?
Crone’s Cairn—Reality Check
Starwoven: Hear My Call - Episode Five—The Keeper of the Stars
… (surely something else will crop up)
Echo Three: What’s Calling You?
How are we doing?
It was great to see the thoughts expressed in response to The Ghost in Our Genes. It certainly has me writing a memoir/speculative story about my father’s origins. That, however, is an emotionally loaded topic—but the story is giving me great insight into the possibilities.
You are out there. I continue to listen and continue to ponder.
So happy that you wander along!
With warmth,
Jennifer
