Extinction
a phaiku
coos rumbles and booms
feathered cloaks and owl vision
climate change still killed
For decades, dinosaurs were imagined as thunderous reptiles—
monsters of roar and scale.
Science has since revised the picture:
feathers instead of scales,
bird-like vision,
complex anatomy that hints at sounds quieter—stranger—than we once assumed.
Re-imagining doesn’t rewrite extinction.
