Prompt: #9 : Knocking on Heaven’s Door by Bob Dylan
Thank you MJ Polk for for your Stories from the Jukebox. I don’t usually write from prompts, but enjoy what others have written. This one called my name.
I first heard “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” in a movie theater, watching Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. I can’t say enough about how Bob Dylan influenced my life. Now he influences the simplicity in the following echo:





I sure wish Substack would give poets a little more latitude in posting poetry. One might argue that structure plays heavier in poetry than story ... oh maybe not, since poetry IS story. Just sayin'.
