A Poem Based on a New-to-Me Format: The Skinny

Author’s Note: The Skinny is a simple and fluid poetic form devised, I believe, by Truth Thomas. The form is as follows:

• It contains 11 lines;

• lines 1 and 11 must contain the same words, though not necessarily in the same order;

• lines 2 - 10 contain one word only;

• lines 2, 6, and 10 must be the same word.

My first attempt at this form follows, titled Still Free:

Boundaries form many fears.
