Echoes from the Wander
10 November 2025
Writing my finale …
The only thing consistent about November in recent years is that I make a great turkey, a better turkey soup with dumplings, and holiday decorations happen the day after turkey.
I’m counting on the same this year … so long as what ails me cuts me some slack. Nearly murdered by the flu now fending off a threatening cold. Doctor says I’m just old. Right.
So tending myself along with my other tending responsibilities has kept me a wee bit busy. But not too busy to start writing my finale to World Beyond the Song.
That’s in fact why Echoes is arriving late today. But don’t think that just because I’m writing my finale, I’ll be finished. I still have to write what’s between the “boffo beginning” and the “fab finale.” Looking for a course in ‘magnificent middles.’ Haha!
So, what did we do last week?
November is still the write thing. What about you and your Novembers?
Last week…
Did you catch Phaiku No. 17? It was inspired by an essay I had written a couple months ago and finally posted: Is Writing Just Labeling? I appreciate the many comments and discussion that followed. You all rock!
Hel Did Not Come came on the heels of last week and is one of my favorites from Crone’s Cairn. I love the Norse.
And then there was the usual whimsy on Wednesday when the Muse checked into rehab for creative disorders.
Finally, I engaged in a wee bit of fun with writing the essential plot of World Beyond the Song in emojis:
💔🗣️🌌🔥🌿
It may become my new tagline. Any guesses?
This week…
… is up for grabs … between CT scans, ultrasounds, and doctor’s orders, I’m sure some words—wise or otherwise—will make an appearance.
Until then, stay frosty, my friends!
