Storm
The sky dimmed—
as if listening.
“I begged.”
The word broke—
where strength had held.
“But vows—
are not mercy.”
She rose—
not upward.
Outward.
Storm answering—
what had been buried.
“And I stood—”
“At the edge—”
“Not to conquer—”
“To beg—”
The tide did not turn.
He stood—
not as what he was.
As what he had become.
“Do not give in.”
No command—
only offering.
“You are still—”
He searched—
and found it.
“More than this.”
“Walk with me.”
Truth—
unguarded.
She broke—
because she could.
He reached—
because he must.
She howled—
because it remained.
