Last of the Ascension (Verse) - 31
Recognition
She bowed—
not in defeat.
In recognition.
“To the one who wept—
and did not come.”
“You kept your vow.”
“And now—
so have I.”
Nothing hidden—
nothing held back.
A tear—
final, and sufficient.
Memesis touched her—
not to change, but to honor.
“Your people—
are where they belong.”
“Remain—
their guardian.”
“Join me.”
An offer—
without demand.
He watched—
hoping for yes.
Because it would mean—
everything was resolved.
She understood—
which is why she refused.
“Not yet.”
Not rejection—
continuation.
“They must be returned—
to memory.”
Not heaven—
but here.
She chose form—
familiar, grounded.
Fur—
not wings.
She moved between them—
touch as gratitude.
Then gone—
as all things that remain must be.
A sound lingered—
light, and enough.
